After graduating from the School of Science and Engineering at Waseda University, he worked at MUFG Bank / Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and PwC Consulting before joining our firm.
Before transitioning to consulting for financial institutions, he spent more than 20 years at the bank in business planning, regulatory affairs, and related functions, with assignments in the Corporate Risk Management Division, Credit Policy & Planning Division, Office of Chairman of Japanese Bankers Association (Corporate Planning Division), CPM, Global Compliance Division, and Global Markets Sales and Trading Division. His areas of expertise include capital adequacy regulations for banks and securities firms, enterprise-wide risk management, global markets operations, global financial regulations, governance structures, and anti-money laundering. He also has extensive experience in negotiations with financial authorities in Japan and overseas.
He holds an MBA from the Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy at Hitotsubashi University and a Darden Executive MBA from the University of Virginia.
