INTERVIEW

Shota Fujikawa, Representative Director and CEO

Tackling problem solving from three perspectives: consulting, investment, and innovation

Shota FujikawaRepresentative Director and CEO

― How do you feel about the growth of your Services so far?

We’ve continued to grow steadily, exceeding the Services plan we drew up before founding the company.
In the consulting industry, “expansion” is sometimes seen as a value, but we have chosen not to go that route. We believe that expanding too quickly risks not developing our consultants sufficiently and becoming a “firm in name only.”
In this regard, INTLOOP Strategy prioritizes “quality.” We place importance on “ensuring a certain level of quality regardless of who is assigned,” and have focused on developing many “consultants who are nominated by clients.”
Consulting is not a profession that requires a license like being a doctor or lawyer. However, because it is highly intellectual work that requires expertise, it takes time and a system to develop excellent talent.
My ideal is to continue growing as a trusted firm where the quality of all our consultants is standardized and a certain level of quality is met, regardless of who is assigned.

― What are the advantages of INTLOOP Strategy?

We work to solve our clients’ problems from three perspectives: consulting, investment, and innovation. These perspectives translate to people, money, and things in Japanese.
Companies face a wide range of challenges. For example, organizational issues like a lack of human resources or unclear management strategies. Small to medium-sized companies also face fundraising needs. Furthermore, these needs extend beyond traditional consulting, such as supporting the implementation of solutions using generative AI.
INTLOOP Strategy’s greatest strength is its ability to flexibly address these diverse challenges based on a company’s stage of growth.
Another advantage is the assets we possess as a group. INTLOOP Inc. has a network of approximately 52,000 freelance consultants, allowing us to quickly assign the best talent to each company’s unique challenges. This enables us to more quickly and accurately resolve our clients’ problems.
INTLOOP Strategy, on its own, offers traditional and solid consulting capabilities. The unique value that is created by combining this with the network and resources of the INTLOOP Group is the source of our advantage.

― What are some of the areas you would like to focus on in your future growth strategy?

There are two main areas we need to hone in order to achieve growth.

The first is to deepen and enhance the knowledge of our consultants as “people,” who will remain valuable assets within companies even in the age of AI. We believe that accumulated knowledge and critical thinking will be a source of competitive advantage for companies.

The second is to strengthen our expertise in addition to industry-specific knowledge so that we can respond to future social and economic needs. For example, we believe that areas such as corporate finance, cybersecurity, and sustainability will become increasingly important in connecting strategy formulation and execution support across the board.

We also plan to actively incorporate the power of AI and digitalize the very way our consultants work. While consultants continue to fulfill their role of providing essential value, we will maximize AI to increase productivity and the value they provide. As a result, we will continue to take on the challenge of growing the INTLOOP and INTLOOP Strategy economic sphere even stronger and broader.
